from 08/03/2018 until 22/03/2018
By distancing itself from the stereotypes that have marked the traditional historiography of nursing in the past, the aim of this short season is to combine, by means of three case studies, the history of compassion with the role played by women in humanitarian missions, both in situations of war and natural disasters. Beyond the academic qualifications and the professional careers of the three main characters in the case studies, the speakers will be focusing on the women’s attitudes and perceptions, as well as the knowledge they accumulated and shared as a consequence of compassionate practice, and specifically nursing care.
