We are happy to announce the opening of the photographic exhibition Researcher’s life: inside/outside the lab on Friday 22 March from 18:30h.

Opening hours: Monday to Friday, 17:00h – 20:00h. Saturdays 11:00h – 14:00h and 17:00h – 20:00h. Sundays 11:00h – 14:00h.
Place: Residència d'Investigadors (Egipcíaques Street, 1-3. 08001 Barcelona).

The photographic project Researcher’s life: inside/outside the lab, led by the post-doctoral researcher at the CRAG Michela Osnato, uses photography as a tool to explain the daily life of young PhD students and post-doctoral researchers working at CRAG, who have been captured in two different scenes: their role as plant scientists at work, and their most personal aspect in the free time. Through diptychs, the "secret life" of scientists inside and outside the laboratory is revealed.

The first portrait explains what plant biologists do in the lab at CRAG: they study changes in plant development depending on environmental stimuli (light, temperature, availability of water); analyze the response of plants to the attacks of pathogens (fungi, bacteria and viruses); investigate the metabolism of plants able to produce health promoting molecules (carotenoids, anthocyanins); research the genetic variability of plants of agricultural interest for breeding…

The second portrait, in turn, reveals the human side of the researchers, their personal interests and their passions for nature, sports, arts, travel, taste...

The reportage includes a short text depicting the names of the researchers, job position, country of birth, and a brief description of their research project and their hobby of free time.
