Blood clotting is one of the human body’s most important response systems to damage. It not only keeps the blood circulating freely, it also transmits signals to the blood cells and vessels to keep them functional and balanced. The loss of this balance can result in the formation of thrombi, which is the main health problem for humans given that it is associated with death from cardiovascular or infectious diseases and cancer. Our research group investigates the function of proteins in the blood and their effect on endothelium and blood cells.
