Almirall is a national pharmaceutical company dedicated to research and marketing of medicines. Its mission includes the idea that its greatest social commitment should be the search for new medicines to solve health problems and improve the quality of life of society in general. To this end, the company allocates 15% of its turnover to I+D activities: more than 500 scientists are involved in this work, which ranges from the molecular design of new medicines to drug registration, as well as chemical, pharmacological, pharmacokinetic, toxicological, galenical and clinical studies.
In order to carry out this work, Almirall has a research centre (25,000 m2 in size) in Sant Feliu de Llobregat, as well as two laboratories in Germany dedicated exclusively to research into dermatology and improvements and innovation in administration processes for medicines, mainly in the field of inhalation.
At present, the company's therapeutic focus is aimed at the search for new medicines for the treatment of asthma, EPOC, rheumatoid arthritis, multiple sclerosis and skin problems.
