Continuous showing cinema: reflections for medicine in society
During the course of the 20th century, cinema has played a fundamental role in shaping culture for Western peoples. Cinema and medicine have a relationship that is just as fruitful as it is complex. How can we assess cinema’s utility in training doctors, whether they are already practicing or still in training? How can cinema contribute to a better understanding of the creation, transmission and management of medical knowledge? How has cinema helped to define certain images of the personas of the doctor and the patient, and of illnesses?

Cycle: Humanist Doctors? Medicine in society for the 20th Century

Organized by: Museum of the History of Medicine of Catalonia, Residence for Researchers, Barcelona Physicians’ Association.
