Does reading Tolstoy make us better doctors? Literature and medicine
Literature as a possible instrument for understanding medicine in society and as an instrument for training the doctor. Literature has enabled the great authors to recreate and imagine scenarios and scenes, illnesses, patients and medical professionals. In such a way that immersion in the reading of classical authors and many contemporary writers has ended up shaping a reality that is sometimes unimaginable, and sometimes comparable with everyday life.

Cycle: Humanist Doctors? Medicine in society for the 20th Century

Organized by: Museum of the History of Medicine of Catalonia, Residence for Researchers, Barcelona Physicians’ Association.
