In 1994, almost 1,000,000 people died violent deaths in Rwanda in a genocide that had been planned for some time. A great human catastrophe that took place before the eyes of an international community that was expressly blind to Africa's problems. The roots of this catastrophe lie in a colonial interpretation of the continent’s history that is common among us even today. This lecture will attempt to examine these roots more deeply, and to narrate the events within their ideological, criminal and racist framework.
