Without doubt, language, literature and folklore are the most obvious aesthetic expressions for drafting a cultural identity and subscribing to the creation of a nation. However, this emphasis does not reveal all the aesthetic and sensorial potential of the ethnic imaginary that is present in Mediterranean gardens. And so, we should take a stroll through these gardens’ forms, volumes, symbols, and ephemeral and sensorial qualities (visual, auditory, olfactory and taste), where plants, water, light, objects and ornaments have been designed to create landscapes of memory, conviviality, taste, feeling and mood.
