Is the water we are drinking good?
There is no doubt that the water that we drink possesses all the required health and chemical properties. That does not mean, however, that we should ignore the presence of alien chemical compounds that should not be present, and which harm water’s properties and characteristics. In this presentation the speaker will explain what these compounds are, and he will pay particular attention to the groups of products that have been discovered recently, including products of personal hygiene, medicines and illegal drugs and their metabolites. The speaker will also discuss the consequences of the presence of these compounds in water designated for human consumption, the difficulties of treating them and the problems derived from the presence of residues from disinfectant products such as trihalomethanes.
