Biological processes such as embryonic development, tissue regeneration and tumour growth and metastasis all involve cell movement. Mechanobiology focuses on studying the physical forces that cause each of these movements. In this lecture, we will be taking a look at the progress being made in this emerging research field, and discussing its potential future applications.
