Non-verbal communication in the doctor-patient relationship
The idea of non-verbal communication presupposes the patient, his/her persona and his discourse regaining a central role in the medical relationship. But what is non-verbal communication? How can we decode specific acts, gestures and behaviour? Can they have a bearing on an improved understanding of health problems? Do doctors have suitable training in this area? Why does long-standing clinical experience immediately acknowledge the fundamental nature of this matter?

Cycle: Humanist Doctors? Medicine in society for the 20th Century

Organized by: Museum of the History of Medicine of Catalonia, Residence for Researchers, Barcelona Physicians’ Association.
