Some time ago, the social sciences learned that it is not possible to identify modernisation with secularisation. The transmission of religious ideas and rituals has successfully formed collective identities during modernisation. That is why the processes of secularisation have followed different paths in different countries. By taking the case of Poland, the speaker will analyse the role of religion in the process of modernisation, the public transmission of religious ideas in the construction of a national identity and the place of religion in a post-secular age.
