In this three-way conversation, the speakers will be attempting to reflect – through the presentation of Volume 41 of the CSIC «New Rome» collection – on the different ways of conceptualising the Humanities in relation to the very notion of crisis. The «New Rome» collection, now with 41 volumes published, offers a wide range of texts and recent studies that use an interdisciplinary, transcultural approach, where Philology and History converge and serve to demonstrate the validity of the Humanities, and which are inseparable from methodologies and forms of knowledge that, despite being traditional, are by no means less innovative. The variety of titles, authors and institutions involved in the Collection constitutes a solid, practical response to the challenges facing the Humanities today.
