The decomposition of water by sunlight in its elements involves a complex combination of chemical reactions that must function efficiently and harmoniously. This series of reactions includes the absorption of sunlight, the catalytic oxidation of water to molecular oxygen and the catalytic reduction of protons by hydrogen. In this lecture, the speaker will be presenting a general view of all of these reactions and their implications for the current energy situation.
