The light source of the ALBA synchotron, one of the leading research projects in our country, is in a very advanced stage of construction, and is expected to begin receiving users this year. It consists of a group of three electron accelerators designed to obtain X-ray bundles that will make it possible to investigate the structure and properties of materials. During the first stage, seven work stations will be set up to carry out different experimental techniques, particularly for research into physics and biology.
The speaker will discuss the characteristics and status of the project, and the techniques available.
