The creation of the new knowledge-based economy – a true challenge in today’s society – has had significant precedents in Catalonia for some time. Finding a suitable niche for effectively transferring scientific research to the productive sector was the driving force behind the creation of LIPOTEC which, since its creation in 1987, has been a pioneer in the productive application of research in the area of peptides and freedom system, especially in the field of encapsulation and freedom systems for cosmetics (particularly millicapsules and liposomes), as well as in the synthesis and purification of peptides for pharmaceutical applications, all of which has helped the company to become a true world leader as a supplier of active ingredients for cosmetics.
