Contemporary Music: Perspectives of our time.

This book was published for the conference series held during April and May 2002 in the Residence for Researchers.

Period of uncertainties. Upheavals and important technological discoveries, the century we have left behind, also generated numerous artistic currents. Painters, poets and musicians inspired by a non conformist will and, frequently, by a belligerent attitude towards tradition, felt the need of expressing themselves in a different way, more adapted to the present times.

The conference series included in this book offers an approach to the contemporary musical scene. Some of the most relevant musicians’ points of view are presented here to get closer to the musical creation and to get a better understanding of it through the written word.
