The interdisciplinary application of genetics to architecture currently involves a new way of looking at ecology, the environment and the digital media in architecture, in what is an authentic biodigital fusion. Based on the importance that new digital paradigms possess in the process of design, in digital architecture and in the most advanced experimental architecture, new technologies offer a fresh approach to new production processes (Data Driven Production, CNC) which can develop a non-standard architecture that is closer to the logic of the gene than to that of industrialised production-line processes. Thanks to this interface, a new way of understanding architecture has emerged, as well as a new way of designing; cybernetically, digitally and environmentally.
