Zeolites for separating gases and catalysis
The preparation of a solid catalyst with one or several well-defined active centres has, in our case, been studied from different angles:
1. Through complexes of transition metals supported by solid matrixes that play a proactive role in one of these ways: a) by stabilising that of the complex; b)
by stabilising the transition state of the reaction; c) by introducing additional active centres into the matrix.
2. By preparing Metal-Organic Frameworks (MOFs) in which the connections between metals are organic links that form the walls, the metals in the vertexes are active sites, or MOFs containing the two types of active centres.
3. Screening of organic molecules with simple or multiple centres located in the walls, where selectivity can be increased by controlling absorption and the transition state.
4. Metal nanoparticles on proactive supports, where the support modifies the characteristics of the metal, or introduces additional active centres with the aim of repairing multifunctional catalysts for cascade reactions.
In this session, the speaker will be presenting the preparation of these catalyst systems and their applications for reactions of general interest, as well as for specific reactions of industrial interest.
